The first semester you teach online, you will complete an online course evaluation, in accordance with Article 19F.
Required Online Training
Review Article 19H to learn more about training requirements prior to teaching online. Options include:
- Start working on LPC's Online Course Development Program (OCDP) by the first day of classes, with the goal of completing it during the current semester.
- Or, if you have completed an equivalent training, you can submit the Exemption from District Sponsored Online Instruction Training form.

Optional POCR Training
Experienced online instructors are encouraged to complete the Peer Online Course Review training to align their online course to the high-quality standards outlined in the CVC Online Course Design Rubric. (See Article 19G for more details.)
Other Optional Training
Even on-campus instructors typically use many of the same technologies that online instructors use, like Canvas - our Learning Management System. That's why all instructors will find optional but highly recommended courses on your Canvas Dashboards, including our Intro to Canvas and Web Accessibility courses.
You also have the opportunity to participate in workshops offered throughout the year to refresh your skills and explore the latest in course design and instructional technology.
