Email Information
As an LPC student, you have dedicated ways to communicate with the college and your instructors:
- LPC "Zonemail" account
- This is a "Gmail" account where you'll receive important messages from the college. Many instructors will also send you welcome letters with information about your upcoming classes here ahead of the new semester.
- Canvas "Inbox"
- Canvas has its own email tool, which is a super convenient way to communicate with your instructor and classmates during the semester.
You'll find information about how to access both below - and set up forwarding to a personal email if desired.
Logging into Zonemail
To access your Zonemail for the first time:
- Log into CLASS-Web using your W number (including the W) and your 6-digit PIN (initially your birth date in the mmddyy format...numbers only).
- Verify your Zonemail username by selecting “What is my email address?".
- Go to the Zonemail login page.
- Username: Enter the Zonemail username found in CLASS-Web.
- Password: Enter your 8-digit password (initially your birth date in the mmddyyyy format...numbers only). Note that this password is different from your CLASS-Web PIN.
- Once in your Zonemail, you can create your own custom password.
- Username: Enter the Zonemail username found in CLASS-Web.

Logging into Canvas Inbox
To access your Canvas Inbox:
- Log into Canvas. (You'll find instructions for logging into Canvas for the first time here.)
- Click Inbox in the global navigation menu (far left).
- You can learn more about using your Canvas Inbox to communicate with your instructors and classmates here.
Forwarding your email (optional)
If you'd like, you can set up email forwarding so that all your messages from Zonemail or the Canvas Inbox get forwarded to a personal email account. To do this, you will have to log into Zonemail, and set up forwarding to your personal account. Learn how to set up forwarding.
Changing your default email address (optional)
You also have the ability to change your default email address in Class-Web. (Note: this is not recommended for students who use the CVC Exchange to sign up for online classes at other community colleges. If you utilize this service, it is typically better to use the forwarding option above.)
- Log into CLASS-Web, using your W ID (including the W) and your 6-digit PIN (initially your birth date in the mmddyy format).
- Select "What is my email address?"
- Select "Update Email Address".
- Under "Type of E-mail to Insert," select your choice, like "Email for Canvas" and click "Submit."
- Enter the email address in the field next to "E-mail"
- Click "Submit".
Once done, you can expect to get messages at your new address within 4-5 hours.
