Course Email

Your default Canvas email address will be your Zonemail address. You will not be able to change this in Canvas. However, you can change your default Canvas address in CLASS-Web. Here's how:

  1. Log into CLASS-Web. using your W ID (including the W) and your 6-digit PIN (initially your birth date in the mmddyy format).
  2. Select "What is my email address?"
  3. Select "Update Email Address".
  4. Under "Type of E-mail to Insert", select "Email for Canvas" and click "Submit".
  5. Enter the email address in the field next to "E-mail", and click "Submit".

Once done, Canvas will be updated with the new address within 4-5 hours.

Log into Zonemail

If you keep your Zonemail account as your default email for Canvas, here's how to access your Zonemail:

  1. Log into CLASS-Web. using your W number (including the W) and your 6-digit PIN (initially your birth date in the mmddyy format...numbers only).
  2. Verify your Zonemail username by selecting “What is my email address?".

  3. Go to the Zonemail login page. 
    • Username: Enter the Zonemail username found in CLASS-Web.

    • Password: Enter your 8-digit password (initially your birth date in the mmddyyyy format...numbers only). Note that this password is different from your CLASS-Web PIN.

Forwarding your email (optional)

If you don't change your default college email address in CLASS-Web, you can still have all emails sent through Canvas go to your personal Gmail, Yahoo, Comcast, etc. account. To do this, you will have to log into Zonemail, and set up forwarding to your personal account. Learn how to set up forwarding.
