Sidhant Parashar: Turning Goals Into Reality

Accepted into Stanford, Yale, UC Berkeley and UCLA. Sidhant Parashar graduated as an Honors Transfer Scholar, attending Las Positas College and transferred to Stanford University, where he will study Data Science, the concentration is computational mathematics
〉〉 How It Started
When Sidhant first enrolled at Las Positas College, his goal was clear: transfer to a top university and pursue Computer Science. Initially, he planned to transfer through an honors-to-honors agreement with UC Irvine. However, when that pathway was removed, he faced an unexpected setback.
“At that point, I felt devastated. But Las Positas offered something better: aim for the best.”
Rather than letting this obstacle define his future, Sidhant used it as motivation to push himself further. During his time at Las Positas, he immersed himself in the Honors Program, challenging coursework, research opportunities, leadership experiences, and professional development.
〉〉 Highlights and Learning Experiences from the Honors Program
The Las Positas Honors Program became a central part of Sidhant’s college experience. Through honors courses and research opportunities, he developed the academic skills and confidence needed to compete for admission to some of the nation’s most selective universities.
A major influence throughout his journey was Dr. Irena Keller, Director of the Honors Program, who provided both academic guidance and personal support.
“Without her guidance and leadership in the Honors Program, transferring to top universities wouldn’t have been possible.”

In addition to academics, Sidhant took advantage of Las Positas College’s Career Center resources. Through support from Career Center staff and mentorship from professionals in the field, he secured an internship with Rezolve AI, where he worked on the Product Development Team and gained valuable industry experience.
His accomplishments were also recognized on campus when he received the Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group’s DreamMaker and RiskTaker Award.
〉〉 What Advice Would You Give to a New LPC Honors Student?
“Take advantage of every opportunity available to you. Get involved in research, build
relationships with your professors, seek out mentors, and don’t be afraid to aim higher
than you originally planned. Sometimes the path you expected isn’t the path that leads
to your greatest success. I highly recommend to take honors classes to build relationships
not just with your professors, but your peers also! The honors community is an amazing
resource that helped me significantly.”
Sidhant encourages all students to remain resilient when plans change and to view challenges as opportunities for growth.
〉〉 Where Is He Now?
Today, Sidhant is preparing to begin his studies at Stanford University as a Data Science & Computation major. He plans to specialize in computational mathematics and continue conducting research in artificial intelligence and machine learning, focusing on stochastic optimization and generative modeling.
Looking back, Sidhant credits the Honors Program, faculty mentorship, career opportunities, and supportive Las Positas community for helping him achieve his goals.
After being accepted to Stanford University, Yale University, UC Berkeley, and UCLA as a transfer student, Sidhant ultimately chose Stanford University for the next chapter of his academic journey.
〉〉Sidhant’s Impact to the Honors Program
The Honors Program team would like to thank Sidhant for his active involvement in
the program’s volunteer and Ambassador initiatives. Throughout his time in the program,
he has provided valuable support and assistance at numerous events, contributing not
only as an Honors Program member but also to the broader Las Positas College community.
