Horticulture
The Horticulture Program is designed for students planning to enter the field of horticulture and for those people already working in the industry who wish to expand their horticulture knowledge or advance their careers. Most classes are conducted during convenient evening hours to allow working students to study for a new career and those with jobs in industry to upgrade their skills.
The horticulture curriculum is designed to meet the demand for trained personnel in a broad range of horticultural fields in one of the following concentration areas:
- Landscape Installation and Maintenance
- Nursery Management and Operations
The program prepares students for careers in all the major horticultural disciplines–including landscape design and construction, nursery and greenhouse management, floral production and design, turf management and arboriculture.
*New Classes. To meet our community’s needs, we have added new classes in California Native Plants and Dry Landscapes, Interior Plantscapes, Fundamentals of Hydroponics and Aquaponics, and Sustainable Landscape.
