General

DegreeWorks is an online degree/certificate audit and student education planning system. DegreeWorks helps students track their progress toward graduation/completion by providing a comprehensive evaluation of a student’s academic record, including up-to-date information on completed courses, remaining courses, grades, GPA, and the requirements needed to fulfill their degree/certificate program.

Note: It is designed to aid and facilitate academic advising but is not intended to replace face-to-face counseling sessions.

  1. Log into MyPortal.
  2. Locate the "DegreeWorks" card.
  3. Click the "Access DegreeWorks Here" link.

No. Registration, including prerequisite checks, will be handled separately through MyPortal - "LPC Records & Registration" card.

The catalog year determines which catalog/program requirements students follow to obtain a degree/certificate. This is normally the year the student was admitted to LPC. This can be updated if the student chooses to follow newer requirements.

Complete a Major Change Request Form and meet with your counselor (EOPS, DSPS, Veterans, General, etc.). Your counselor will review your request and take care of submitting the form for you.

If you are thinking about changing your major, you can use the What-If feature to generate an audit for the new major you are considering. Once processed, the What-If audit will show you what the requirements are for the major you are considering and how the classes you have already taken will apply to that major. If you decide to change your major, you must submit a Major Change Request Form. Complete the major change form and meet with your counselor (EOPS, DSPS, Veterans, General, etc.). Your counselor will review your request and take care of submitting the form for you.

DegreeWorks uses a student’s Catalog Year to determine the set of degree requirements to use when producing a degree audit. If you think the requirements for your major are incorrect, check the catalog year that appears on your audit. If you believe the catalog year is incorrect, then complete a Major Change Request Form and meet with your counselor (EOPS, DSPS, Veterans, General, etc.). Your counselor will review your request and take care of submitting the form for you.

DegreeWorks uses a “best fit” approach for meeting requirements. This means classes may be applied differently as you take more classes. This is normal and should be in your best interest. However, if you are concerned, please contact a counselor.

You may request for transfer coursework to appear on your audit by submitting the Incoming Transcript Evaluation Evaluation form to the Admissions & Records Office (Bldg. 1600, 2nd floor).

The "@" symbol is used as a wild card. If the "@" sign appears after a subject prefix (e.g., KIN @), it means that you can take any course with that subject prefix (e.g., any course in Kinesiology).

If you still have questions about your audit/programs, please contact a counselor.
