About Us

Who are we:

Community Education at Las Positas College is an inclusive, learning-centered program that aims to inspire those of all ages to pursue lifelong learning; we provide professional education and personal enrichment classes to the Tri-Valley and surrounding area. Since our inception in 1998, when we started with a handful of computer classes, we have taken pride in our dynamic, responsive programing that only continues to grow and change with the needs and wants of our community. Now with hundreds of classes to choose from, we hope that you will make us part of your lifelong learning endeavors.

We strive to

• support our community of life-long learners in meeting their personal and professional goals. 
• inspire community members of all ages to participate in life-long learning. 
• offer a variety of courses and programs including, but not limited to, career and technical training, retraining, and skill enhancement, travel opportunities, and personal enrichment. 
• increase course accessibility by offering in-person, live remote, and fully online learning opportunities.
• maintain a high quality of course content and instruction by taking into consideration the thoughts and opinions of our community members who participate in our classes.
