Puente Project Course Sequence
The Puente Project is a two-semester (fall and spring) commitment connecting English, Math, and Psychology-Counseling courses to increase the number of educationally underserved students to:
- Transfer and enroll in four-year institutions.
- Earn college degrees.
- Return to the community to serve as leaders and mentors.
Fall Semester
English Component:
- ENG C1000 (ENGL L1): Academic Reading and Writing (3 units)
- Transfer: Cal-GETC area 1A UC/CSU
Math Component:
- STAT C1000: Introduction to Statistics and Probability (4 units)
- Transfer: Cal-GETC area 2 UC/CSU
OR
- MATH 21: Precalculus (4 units)
- Transfer: Cal-GETC area 2 UC/CSU
Psychology Counseling Component:
- PCN 20: Thriving in College (2 units)
- Transfer: UC/CSU
- Elective units
Spring Semester
English Component:
- ENG 4: Critical Thinking and Writing about Literature (3 units)
- Transfer: Cal-GETC area 1B UC/CSU
OR
- ENG C1001 (ENGL L7): Critical Thinking and Writing (3 units)

Math Component (Depends on Major):
- MATH 1: Calculus I (5 units)
