ESL Assessment

Students planning to enroll in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are encouraged to complete an in-person assessment at the Assessment Center. The assessment evaluates your reading and language-use skills and provides a placement recommendation to help ensure you begin at the level that best matches your current abilities.

Instructions for Taking Your ESL Assessment:

ESL assessments are offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Appointments are not required; however, we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early to allow time for check-in. Students who arrive 15 minutes late or later will not be permitted to test.

What to Bring:

  • Valid photo ID: Must be a physical ID; digital copies are not accepted.
  • Student ID (W#): If you have not yet received your W# by email, please visit the Admissions & Records Office or check your application status before coming in.

Before coming in, please check the Assessment Center’s Student Support Hours to make sure the center will be open, as hours may change.
