The Alameda County Food Bank Online Portal is where people can find food when the food help line is closed and also provides CalFresh screening and application assistance. This online portal is also available in Spanish.

 

Aunt Bertha

Aunt Bertha is a Social Care Network that connects people and programs to make it easy for people to find social services in their communities. You can search resources by your zip code and then narrow it down by category (e.g. food).

 

CalFresh

Provides up to $194 a month per household member for purchasing food and these funds can now be used online at Amazon and Walmart.  

 

CA Meals for Kids App

The CA Meals for Kids App helps you find nearby California Afterschool and Summer Meal Program Sites through your device. 

 

FoodFinder App

Find Emergency food locations by using the FoodFinder online tool or mobile app.

 

Text 'Food' to 877-877 to Find Feeding Sites for Kids and Teens

National texting service that allows parents or students to find feeding sites near them by text.

  • Text 'FOOD' to 877-877 or 'COMIDA' to 877-877 for information in Spanish.
  • User receives text back prompting them to enter a street address, city and state and/or zip code for their desired location.
    • While the service is able to return results for inputs that include only city and sate and/or zip code, including a full street address Wil return results that are more accurate.
  • The service then texts back information about nearby meal site, or information about how to access other food resources if not sites are operating in the vicinity.

 

USDA Find Meals for Kids and Teens

Parents with kids and teens 18 years old and under can use the Find Meals for Kids mapping tool to find sites near them where they can pick up free nutritious meals and snacks. Simply type in your address and find results.

 

USDA National Hunger Hotline

The USDA National Hunger Hotline is a resource for individuals and families seeking information on how to obtain food. The National Hunger Hotline staff connects callers with emergency food providers in their community, government assistance programs, and various social services.

1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (for Spanish) Monday through Friday (7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET).
