Peter Kuo, Coordinator

Peter is a visual designer who has worked across the industry in a variety of disciplines, including print design and production, UI/UX, motion graphics, web, photography, video, and digital publishing. He is a certified technical trainer and Adobe certified Instructor in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and Lightroom.

Michael Jay

Michael Jay’s background has been as a commercial photographer with clientele such as Apple, Autodesk, Forbes ASAP, Intel, National Semiconductor, Sun Microsystems (Acquired by Oracle), and Verifone. His specialty was in large format studio photography with an emphasis on technology, on location and portraiture and special effects photography. His subjects include Doug Engelbart, the inventor of the computer mouse, Bill Gates of Microsoft, Scott McNealy of Sun Microsystems, Gordon Moore of Intel, Ted Nelson, an American pioneer of information technology, who coined the term, hypertext and John Walker, founder of Autodesk. Building on that experience, Michael has applied his photographic knowledge in teaching Photoshop. Michael has also been teaching Web Design, HTML5 and CSS using Dreamweaver, primarily in code view. Michael has taught at other educational institutions such as the Academy of Art, San Francisco City College, Laney College and Las Positas College.

Marc Schultz

Marc Schultz is a background painter and concept artist specializing in environment design, with a strong foundation in both traditional and digital techniques. He earned his Master of Fine Arts in Game Development with a concentration in Concept Design from the Academy of Art University. Marc brings professional experience from the animation and game industries, having worked as a concept artist for a mobile game studio and as a background artist for Powerhouse Animation.

In addition to his 2D work, Marc integrates 3D tools—particularly Blender—into his design process, using it to develop layouts, explore composition, and support his visual storytelling. His interdisciplinary approach enriches both his creative work and his teaching philosophy.

Chris Meyer

Chris Meyer is a multidisciplinary 2D & 3D digital artist natively from the Tri-Valley. After graduating Saludatorian of his class with a Bachelor's degree in Game Art & Design, Chris became the Lead Instructor for the Tri-Valley ROP Arts, Media, and Entertainment pathway and has lead their program since 2012.  Now a veteran arts educator, Chris was awarded Teacher of the Year for 2019 for his role at TVROP. Chris brings with him his expertise in 2D and 3D animation as well as 3D modeling, boasting over 20 years of experience with Adobe suite programs, Autodesk Maya, and Toon Boom Harmony.
