Current Outside Scholarships for LPC Students

Educating for Change Scholarship
The Educating for Change Scholarship, made possible through a generous gift from Dr.
Joseph Bick and Ms. Stephanie Koop, provides financial support to California community
college students who have a parent incarcerated in a prison administered by the California
Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).
The Educating for Change Scholarship is non-competitive. To receive an award, applicants
must meet the eligibility requirements and complete an application through their Financial
Aid or Scholarship Office.
Scholarships will be awarded through a lottery system due to limited funds. The award amounts areas follows:
• $500 per semester
• $1,000 per academic year

Native Daughters of the Golden West (N.D.G.W.)
Scholarships are available to those who are California-born, Members of the NDGW, or eligible to affiliate with the NDGW, or have a familial relationship to a Member except as noted below. Applicants must be seniors or graduates of an accredited high school, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50, or its equivalent or have obtained a G.E.D. (Graduate Equivalency Degree or General Educational Diploma), or Certificate of Completion.
Applicants must be sponsored by a Parlor.
- This program is open to members and their children who are attending or planning to attend a campus of the University of California or the California State University system.
- Applicants must be high school seniors or undergraduates who have completed the first year of college with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- They must have been born in the state and be sponsored by a local parlor of the NDGW.
AWARD: $850 - $2000
Application packets must be postmarked by April 11, 2025. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the Committee's deliberations
in May.
