School Matters Program Certificate of Competency
About the Certificate
The School Matters Program will teach English Learners the listening and speaking, reading and writing, and vocabulary skills necessary to help support their child's learning in the K-12 school system. Classes will focus specifically on language skills for supporting your child's learning in the classroom and at home, and for interacting with your child's school administration and greater school community.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students are able to:
- Confidently engage in spoken communication within the K-12 school community.
- Confidently engage in written communication within the K-12 school community.
- Confidently access resources within the K-12 school community.
- Actively participate as a confident partner within the K-12 school community.
