Global Studies
The Global Studies program is committed to providing students with a deep understanding of human cultures, behavior, and society and a transnational understanding of the central issues facing our world today. Students will also develop cross-cultural competencies, learning to balance personal and cultural beliefs with different ways of thinking, understand and work through conflict, and navigate cross-cultural interaction in their communities, work relationships, civic life, and travel experiences. Faculty in the program support students’ development of expertise in the kinds of critical thinking, reading, and writing demanded by different disciplines as well as facility with interdisciplinary thinking.

Students who take courses in the program will enjoy a broad, interdisciplinary education that will prepare them to work in diverse settings in diverse types of places, whether close to home, in major urban centers, or in other countries. Global Studies politics, government, law, international business, academics, advocacy, journalism, non-profi t work, publishing, the arts, research, and more. Understanding the global dimensions of societal developments and challenges will boost students’ critical thinking skills and make them valuable assets to future employers.
