Classified Leadership In Mentorship Building (CLIMB)

CLIMB is a professional development opportunity for CLPCCD classified professionals. It is a mentoring program coordinated through the Classified Leadership Institute Program (CLIP), formed and developed by CLIP Cohort #2.

Mission

Our Mission is to empower CLPCCD Classified Professionals by building collaborative relationships where the focus is supporting their growth and development. One way to do this is through mentoring.

What is Mentoring?

Mentoring is a learning process between individuals. It’s a relationship that is created whereby an individual provides information that can help another individual grow and achieve their goal. The goal can range from accomplishing a new task to advancing in their career.

Mentorship Responsibilities

CLIMB is an informal program which means the mentor and mentee establish the relationship. Together the mentor/mentee will determine:

  • Goals
  • Meeting times (monthly, bi-weekly, bi-monthly, etc.)
    • Meet at least once per month. (Minimum requirement)
    • Release time granted for meetings/activities
  • Length of the relationship

Mentor/Mentee assignments will be established by CLIP cohort members, based on application submissions. All participants must attend an orientation. Both mentors and mentees will be asked to complete program evauluation forms to document their progess and assess the program.

Program Availability & Requirements

The program runs throughout the year with applications accepted and matches made at the beginning of fall and spring semesters. The program is open to all full-time Classified Professionals that have passed their probationary period. (Any time taken away from regular work hours for mentors and/or mentees should be approved as release time). Mentors from the following groups are encouraged to participate:

  • Classified Professionals
