New Student Veterans & Military Families Orientation

Veterans - Thank you for your service!  Military Families - we thank your parents or spouse for their service!

We are excited to work with you and ensure your success at Las Positas College!  We can help you with understanding your VA Education Benefits, ensure you have the courses you need for graduation, and provide fellow peer support to guide you throughout the semester.   

OPERATION GATEWAY is our new student veterans and military families orientation on Thursday, July 25, and Friday, July 26, 2024 at Las Positas College.  To lock in your space, please click on the link here to lock in your space for Operation Gateway. 

By attending both days, you will receive:

• $200 credit for use at the LPC Bookstore for Fall 2024 books and supplies
• Fall 2024 parking permit paid (if your VA education benefits does not cover it).
• If registered for the Mission Ready Learning Community Courses (Engl 1A and CMST1 - your books for these courses only will be paid).
• LPC Veterans First Program Backpack with swag.
• Connect with Veterans Services Organizations and Industry Partners at our Resource Fair
• Event includes continental breakfast and free lunch.
  
  

To schedule an appointment to meet with a Veterans Counselor, call us at 925.424.1570.   The Veterans Counselor will provide you with a comprehensive educational plan which is required to use your VA education benefits.  

GOALS OF OPERATION GATEWAY

This special 2 day transitional orientation is geared to empower student veterans, dependents/spouses, and reservists with resources to ensure academic success at LPC. We will connect you with resources at Las Positas College as well as support from off campus  organizations.
